I'm Robert Mehling, an artist from the east end of Long Island. I live about four miles inland from the beach pictured
above. The top was painted about for years ago facing west, and the bottom was this year facing east. What you see on the
left is the remnants of a beached ship.
Mostly known as a still-life painter, I also do landscapes to get out of the studio from
time to time. I paint representations of things and scenes that only indirectly reference people. I try to capture in paint
the unique and autonomous personalities of what I depict. My art, being a combination of tradition and progression, may be
